Challenge

A few years ago, we built an all-hands space for Contentful, which was already quite something back then. In 2020 Contentful approached us and reported that the company "outgrew its premises and wanted to build something new". The task was to create a multifunctional space for meetings, negotiations and parties, equipped with a stage, projector, event lights, videoconferencing and sound system designed for any task. In fact, it was required to re-launch All Hands Space "Foobar", known from the former office. That is why it was named FOOBAR 2.0.

Contentful is the leading content platform for digital-first companies, helping over 30% of the Fortune 500 and thousands of brands around the world to create and manage digital experiences for their customers across all channels. As the company grew from a small startup to a "unicorn" with a valuation more than $1 billion, they needed to give their innovative ideas more freedom. So Contentful moved its headquarters to a larger building and created a modern work environment for its team with a future-oriented workplace. MEDIA INTEGREAT had to realize a media technology project that included 65 small and 10 large conference rooms, several event spaces for different audience sizes, a café and many other special rooms.

Background

Execution

As agile as Contentful is as a company, the planning of the media technology was also agile. A projection surface was created that can be used not only for zoom meetings, but also as a presentation surface for larger seminars and trainings which can be started at the touch of a button. The control system of the multimedia equipment is organized in such a way as to be as clear and user-friendly as possible. We installed two cameras that are controlled from a touch panel where you can see both the audience and the stage.

A mobile stage area for presentations is illuminated with KL panels and LED Fresnel spotlights
as well as RGBW LED spots from Elation, which are controlled via the QSYS via Artnet. This opens up the possibilities for creating incredible lighting and illumination at parties and presentations. The programming was done in LUA and the connection to the LED spotlights was executed using Artnet on DMX nodes, also from Elation.

the whole area, but also, if desired, «one or two new hairstyles» - here we made almost 30,000 watt sinus

Ultimately, this room should also be used for parties, which is why, in addition to a fully equipped bar, there is also a network-based connection for a DJ (XLR) and monitoring. This can be used via dynamic pairing at any network connection throughout the building and is therefore variable for every room.
